Material selection
Diamond for hard, brittle materials. CBN for ferrous metals.
Diamond wheels are commonly used for gemstone, glass, ceramics, carbide, ferrite, and other hard non-ferrous or non-metal materials.
CBN wheels are typically selected for hardened steel, tool steel, and other ferrous materials where diamond is not suitable.
